Cartaceo 20,00€ - Digitale 0,00€
One knot of critical importance for social living in the contemporary globalized scenario is that which tightly inter-twines religion, ideology, politics, and law. In 2005 Steve Jobs stated: “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future”. The present collection of studies represents an attempt to connect some dots looking backwards and heading towards the future. It collects the results of numerous reasearches on this subject, discussed in the international congress about Religion, Ideology, Politics, and Law. A Multidisciplinary Approach in the Frame of European History, held in Palermo on 5 March 2020. The theme is considered from different angles and in various periods of European history, from Roman times to the Enlightenment, underscoring the numerous connections with contemporaneity. The interdisciplinary approach of these Proceedings involves fields such as ancient, medieval, and modern history, legal history, the history of religions and ecclesiastical law, with a further focus on Islamic legal tradition
