JADT 2026 Proceedings – Tomo I Tomo II

The International Conference on the Statistical Analysis of Textual Data, JADT (Journées d’Analyse Statistique des Données Textuelles), reached its 18th edition in 2026. For the first time, the conference was held in Palermo, Italy, from 8 to 10 July 2026, organized by StatPanormus and by the Department of Economics, Business and Statistics of the University of Palermo.

This biennial conference has continuously gained importance since its first edition in Barcelona in 1992, followed by the editions of Montpellier (1994), Rome (1996), Nice (1998), Lausanne (2000), Saint-Malo (2002), Louvain-la-Neuve (2004), Besançon (2006), Lyon (2008), Rome (2010), Liège (2012), Paris (2014), Nice (2016), Rome (2018), Toulouse (2020), Naples (2022), and Bruxelles(2024).

Every two years, JADT presents the state of the art concerning theories, problems, methods and applications in several domains sharing a quantitative approach to the study of lexical, textual, pragmatic and discursive features of information expressed in natural language.
In this edition, as already done in Naples in 2022, special attention was paid to young researchers through the 2026 VADISTAT – Per Simona Balbi Young Award. The award follows the attitude of our beloved colleague Simona Balbi, who strongly supported students and early-career researchers interested in the Statistical Analysis of Textual Data.
