HANDBOOK ON CLIMATE JUSTICE

Climate change has evolved from a primarily environmental concern intoone of the defining legal, political, economic, and social challenges of our time.  As its impacts become increasingly evident across the globe, climate justice has emerged as one of the most dynamic fields of contemporary legal scholarship and practice, fostering new forms of dialogue between science, law, public policy, and human rights.

The Climate Justice Handbook is one of the main scientific and educational outputs of the Climate Justice Living Lab project, funded under the European Union Erasmus+ Programme (Action KA220-HED – Cooperation Partner
ships in Higher Education, Call 2023). The project is coordinated by the University of Palermo (Italy), as the applicant institution, in partnership with the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Spain), Mariupol State University (Ukraine), the non-governmental organisation A Sud Ecologia e Cooperazione Onlus (Italy), and
CM Skoulidi & SIA EE (Greece). This consortium brings together academic expertise, civil society engagement, and technological innovation, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of climate justice itself.

The present Handbook is the result of the intellectual exchange, collabo ration, and shared commitment of all project partners to develop high-quality learning materials aimed at fostering a comprehensive understanding of climate justice, with a specific focus on the role of climate litigation as one of the most significant and rapidly evolving legal phenomena of our time.
